Abstract: Given that strategic planning has traditionally worked by listening only to the voice of managers, in addition to studying their environments and functional processes, this initiative considers it fundamental to listen to the voice of the user, considering that they are the ones who truly face the conditions of the quality of library services. Therefore, the results of a user study are taken as a reference, where the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) tool was applied in public libraries in the municipality of Chihuahua, Mexico, which allowed identifying that the planning Strategic of libraries in an integral administrative system, can be sustained in the management of the quality and in the table of indicators of performance, whose implantation could be developed undera cycle of design, control, improvement and innovation to reach harmonic and systematic objectives.

From 27th to 30th November I was incorporated as an evaluator for the Accreditation Council for Educational Programs on the Humanities (COAPEHUM), as I conducted the evaluation of the Librarianship and Information Studies bachelor’s program at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
One of the results from my Editing for Publication course, proud of my students! They presented a conference about the course’s topics from the English Language Bachelor Program, which they presented at the XL Humanism Week, Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua.
Within #PeerReviewWeek18, for the third year in a row, Publons has awarded my peer review work in scientific journals, as I am positioned within the 1% top reviewers in the world within my fields.

Abstract: This descriptive and correlational research studies 15,658 students from 335 secondary schools in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, through the results of the examination of admission to high school education (National High School Admission Test – EXANI I from the National Assessment Center for Education – CENEVAL) on logical-mathematical and verbal reasoning, mathematics and Spanish, comparing along the variables of sex, system (public or private), type of school of origin (there are seven types) and ranking of grades, with which, the main objective is to identify levels of institutional competitiveness. The main findings of the research were: (i) private schools, in comparison with public ones, showed percentages of more favorable grades (60.54 and 43.58 respectively); (ii) influence of the academic average of the students in the result of the examination of admission (correlation of .0403; (iii) greater competence in the area of verbal reasoning (56.47) compared to logical-mathematical reasoning (55.69); and (iv) the identification of a small number of secondary schools considered as having sufficient institutional competitiveness (11 schools, equivalent to 3.28% of the total).

Our second article of the year #WeAreOnFire, where we perform a regional diagnostic of the Latin American institutions that can be considered as academic and research think tanks.
Abstract: This article presents a general overview of the Think Tank model, including its conceptualization and main types. Then, it focuses on the academic and research Think Tanks that are located in Latin America, by identifying the existing ones per country, presenting their tendencies and by analyzing them from the perspective of their organizational, financial, informational, educational, technical, human capital and knowledge generation resources. This contribution also identifies Latin American academic and research Think Tanks’ competitive advantages and their differences from traditional educational models.
